Elmer's Glue: Main Ingredient for Homemade Mod Podge for Gothic-inspired journal covers

One of the finest things that La Simero Handmade was able to showcase to its clients in the Philippines are the following journals sold months ago. These are one of the Gothic-inspired journals made out of mod podging.

Before I never knew about mod podging. Not until after searching about crafts in YouTube and found out that mod podging is what I have been doing years ago. It is placing texture to crafts through using the Mod Podge and whatever materials you could find at home.

In my case, I usually use some plies of tissue paper and place it to the cardboard and wet it through my so-called mod podge with a mixture of Elmer's Glue and water. Neither did I know that by having that particular mixture is already a mod podge. Well, the homemade one.

You can find several ingredients to make your own mod podge. But the basic ingredients are water and a whole bottle of Elmer's Glue. That's it! You already have your own Mod Podge.

What you can see below are the products of mod podging using my homemade Mod Podge. After that, I colored the entire covers with some poster paints then repeat the the process of placing mod podge to the painted covers. Wait until they dry.

To achieve the Gothic look, I placed some of the stuff like chains, and some charms I bought from the market. Then, I placed them in the covers through the use of my hot glue gun. Voila!

To bind the pages, I used Coptic binding stitch to make the pages flat while doing sketching, whatsoever with these journals.

Thanks to Elmer's Glue, I was able to achieve these good looking, stunningly amazing Gothic-inspired handmade journals!

Arnold Grummer's Paper Making Process As an Inspiration for La Simero Handmade paper sheets

I have been working with our new branding for our handmade journals here in the Philippines. Through the help of several media such as Pinterest, Etsy, and other crafty blogs available, I was able to establish my own crafty stuff by doing something creative out of the things available at home.

One of the newest things I did is making our handmade paper taken from Arnold Grummer's paper making techniques as an inspiration. Several weeks ago, I saw his videos about how easy it is to make new sheets of paper from recycled scraps of paper and other materials to blend in to the new sheets. You may click on the video below to see yourself how Arnold Grummer recycled papers to make new sheets of papers.

Based from the video, I have innovated some of his techniques from what is really available at home.

Above are some of the products made from the trimmed handmade paper sheets. These are made from scrap papers blended together with some botanical like dried flowers, leaves, and so on depending on the available resources.

These handmade bookmarks with cute felt designs came from 12 x 12 inches handmade paper that you can see in my Etsy shop listing through this link attached.

Elmer's Glue-All To Arrive With Stronger Formula

Elmer's Glue has been one of the most trusted providers of crafting adhesives. It may come with merely crafting like journal making like I personally do or perhaps, any school projects like in the art school.

The regular Elmer's Glue has been with me along the years since childhood (that's around 5 years now). So, I know how it is and how effective it is to my works of art. It is really that recommendable to all the crafters out there who wanted a much more durable adhesive or glue to their projects [whatever it is].

Currently,  I am using the Elmer's Glue-All because of its stronger formula and fast drying ability which I really, really love. Because in my journal making business, I need each time that much, and every minute is counted. So, since the time I used this product, I love the results and the kind of durability it does to my work especially when I am using them in the book spines and journal covers.

I am still exploring to how would the Elmer's Glue-All can do in my work. So far, I discovered that it can be good for final coating to protect the paint for my covers, because sometimes with my paper mache in my journal covers, I use it to strengthen the tissue paper. Plus, at the end of the painting process, I end it with brushing it with pure glue mixture directly through my paint brush to further strengthen the covers.

The result is really amazing. It creates a long- lasting durability ability to my journal covers and it makes the covers stronger than the usual glue mixture. So, personally, I highly recommend Elmer's Glue-All for your DIY projects! See it yourself!

Elmer's Glue is The Best! Highly Recommended for Your DIY Projects

Since months as a journal maker myself, it has been a while when I first had my initial experience with Elmer's Glue as part of my list in my adhesives to use for my journals. Many of the crafters out there would really agree to what I say here.

Elmer's Glue is best glue that I strongly recommend for those who wanted stronger hold on different DIY projects you wish to make. From wood, to any type of paper and other material, they are really apt for these gluing needs.

And because of its stronghold capacity, it guarantees every user not to make worries about any repairs to make in the household and most especially in the field of art and crafting. Personally, this has been my best friend. I use both the regular Elmer's Glue and the Elmer's Glue with Stronger Formula. These two I use for the binding of the book spines, and to all the journal designs I make in the covers.

There are a lot more of their products that they feature in this month. So far, they have the latest Elmer's Glue Craft Bond, ProBond, Stronger Formula, and School Glue, non-toxic and good for kids' art in school.

Every glue that they have are assured to have non-toxic formula, thus, there is ZERO worry to think about since Elmer's Glue does not have to contain all those poisonous chemicals for their adhesives to make it stronger and better for the crafts and other DIY projects.

This is one of the reasons why I love Elmer's Glue and I will continue using this product all throughout my journal making for my business and at the same time for my favorite past time.
